One of my favorite memories about Joy is the time we lived with Candice. We were driving home real late one night and were sooo tired! We drove past a sign all lit up with flashing lights and it said "Exotic". Exotic dancers? Exotic women? No- exotic BIRDS! We laughed so hard! "You liiike? You Buuyyy? wraaa wraaa!" shaking our shoulders like exotic birds might. My sides hurt so bad! We were laughing so hard! We still laugh each time we remember that joke!

Happy birthday Joy
That picture made a blog appearance two years ago, but I love it so I'm posting it again. Joy, you are spunky, intelligent, sympathetic, creative, insightful, down to earth, a great mom, easy to talk to, are amazing at home construction projects, you grow your own tomatoes (and make killer roasted tomato soup), support your husband in a demanding calling and job, are inspiringly frugal (totally made up a word), athletic (and make up your own mini triathlons), AND have awesome non-seaweed hair. We love you to pieces and are SO glad we're in the same family!

To the Joyster
Happy birthday to Joy! You've always been a great sister and I loved that people thought we were twins growing up. I hope you have a fantastic birthday, and in celebration of your big day I'm taking my kids to Legoland. They say thanks for having a birthday. :)

A Painting!

Isn't this so good!? My good friend Annika, who is now my roommate painted me... and several other people for her senior show at UVU.

For the girl who has everything, we send Thack's love
Happy day of birth Miss Jennifer. You're the best. I'll never forget how you took us under your wing when we moved down to Mesa. What a lifesaver! You are one of the most others-centered people I've met. You constantly put others first in your life and are always more concerned with making everyone feeling comfortable and welcome. I love that and wish I could be more like that. Love you girl!

When Vanita left she asked me to stay in touch with her friend Lola who is Apache Indian. Lola wants to get her daughters baby adopted. He daughter is in and out of jail. So,long story short she is ready for this to happen. She has asked for John Bean to adopt the baby. I called John and Serene. They are still having a little shock with this new idea. Lola doesn't want to go with Family Services and she wants John to come down and get the baby soon. Like next week. Serene and John have to get some work done. Legal papers and such. They are still in shock. I don't know what will really happen. I know a friend of Joy's and tried to create an interest in that opportunity. I felt when I told her they were Navajo that was a turn off. I guess Apache and Navajo don't see eye to eye. Anyway, John and Serene are in the middle of a big life change, if indeed this does happen. I just about called you Vic but I am not sure they are ready for that even.I still hope the baby is placed soon and to the right family. John and Serene want that too. No one is positive how this will work. Indians follow their own rules I have learned.
Grandma is doing fine. Lonely too but fine. Any calls or letters brighten her day.
Dad's birthday in Tues. Jack's birthday was Sat. 10 years old. Jenny's is coming up and then Haileys. Love you and are looking to going to Calif. in Nov. Thanks for your blogs and pictures. I love them and feel connected to you a little. Love MOm

Not to ruin everyone's week.....
But I got Laid off today. Everyone in my department did. Just thought you should know. Its ok though. I feel ok about it, and not super worried yet. Maybe it just hasn't hit me. I guess it will give me time to get back to my one true love. Underwater basket weaving.

The Newest Nephews
Once there was a fun-loving attractive couple named Paul and Kristyn. They had a little boy named Thacker and another baby on the way.
One night while watching a movie, Kristyn had to use the ladies room. Soon she realized what was really happening. Her water had broken even though they were weeks away from their due date. That baby was coming and fast! They made a mad dash to the hospital. There wasn't even time to take Thacker to the babysitter!
Before they knew what was happening, their precious bundle had arrived!
A handsome baby boy to some very proud parents! Hooray- he is here!
Once there was a good-looking well read couple named Vic and Molly. They had a little girl named Lucy who they loved and adored and she loved and adored them! But Lucy couldn't stay. Less than 3 years later they had special little boy named Peter who warmed their sad hearts with love and laughter. Vic continued to read (usually 5 books at a time) and Molly began running. All of the time. Up and over mountains- everywhere.
But Lucy was always near, a sweet angel watching over them.
